BACKGROUND

I began my career as a computer scientist teaching courses across the curriculum.  I accumulated nine years FTE experience doing this and acquired tenure and promotion to the rank of Associate Professor at a small liberal arts college while doing so.  Obtaining a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering (majoring in Cognitive Engineering) began a career change to become a human factors engineer where I am still able to use my understanding of computer systems, but where I now take a human centered approach to systems engineering.
